INNOVATEHER BUSINESS CHALLENGE 2017
The SBA wants to unleash the entrepreneurial spirit of America’s women and men by providing needed resources and technical assistance to business owners and innovators. InnovateHER: 2016 Innovating for Women Business Challenge is an engaging women business challenge in which the SBA will facilitate unearthing and empowering entrepreneurs.
The competition is open to entrepreneurs throughout Northeast Ohio, to both women and men who are developing products or services that have a measurable positive impact on the lives of women and families, has the potential for commercialization, and fills a need in the marketplace. As demands on women and families grow in our society, the need for products, services, and technology addressing
those needs increases.

As demands on women and families grow, the need for products, services, and technologies that address unique challenges increases. This challenge provides a platform to address these unique challenges. The InnovateHER competition is open to entrepreneurs throughout the United States who are developing products or services that help impact and empower women and families.
InnovateHER Competition Process:
The first round of InnovateHER consists of local competitions being held across the U.S. through December. The local competition will be coordinated through Camp Tech with the help of other SBA resource partners.
One winner from each local competition will be submitted to the SBA during a semi-finalist round, the winner will be announced in December 2017.
SBA will then identify no more than 10 national finalists from the submitted semi-finalists. Each finalist will be offered the opportunity to make a live marketing pitch to a panel of expert judges drawn from the private sector on March 17, 2018 in Washington, D.C.
Cash prizes totaling $70,000 will be awarded to the three highest-rated contestants nationally in the final round of the Challenge in the following amounts: 1st place - $40,000, 2nd place - $20,000, 3rd place - $10,000
How to Participate:
Complete Part 1 of the InnovateHER application for the competition at InnovateHer Online App by 11:59 pm on November 21, 2017.
Email a business plan (Part 2) to firstname.lastname@example.org by 11:59 pm on November 21, 2017. The business plan should cover your proposed product or service and must satisfy the Competition criteria - measurable impact on the lives of women and families, has the potential for commercialization, and fills a need in the marketplace.
